Best DMZ Loadouts in Warzone Season 4: Weapons, Equipment & Gear

The best DMZ loadouts for... DMZ, unsurprisingly.

There’s plenty of change on the horizon for Warzone’s DMZ. Because of the amount of weapons, items and equipment on offer, players can struggle to work out what’s what. Here are the best DMZ loadouts in Season 4 Reloaded.

Best DMZ Loadouts in Season 4

The Season 4 Reloaded update built on S4 itself, changing a few things in DMZ. We saw plea changes come and go, as well as new bounties to stop players overly targeting real-life enemies.

Season 5 looks set to change a lot as well, bringing four new items, introducing the Konni Group and revealing new missions.

Weapons will be subject to change, as they have been in all past updates. For now, the following are the most viable and therefore the ones to put in your insured slot – or pick up when you find them in an exclusion zone.

Best DMZ Weapons

RPK

The RPK LMG is still among the best weapons in DMZ. It’s not the behemoth it was back when it dominated Warzone battle royale, with the devs implementing a number of nerfs to balance it. It’s still a very strong LMG though, boasting good range, large magazines and mobility that stands out for its weapon class. Its range means you can sit back and pick off unsuspecting bots from a safe distance.

Reloading is also better than expected for a LMG, with players only needing to change a drum and get back into the action.

It’s easy to acquire and exfil with as well. A lot of bots carry the RPK, so you’ll never be short of ammo. It being so common means you can easily extract with one and put it in your Contraband Stash.

KV Broadside

A shotgun? Really? Yes, really. Season 4 has been something of a renaissance for the weapon class. None has really benefitted more than the KV Broadside, which has been buffed again to push it back towards the semi-automatic nightmare it once was.

We recommend extended magazines to increase your ammo capacity. They’ll make it even more suited to close-range action DMZ offers a lot of. There’s probably no better choice to clear Strongholds and rescue hostages. These locations often have 10 or 20 bots in a single house and the KV Broadside means you can enter, tap-fire to your heart’s content and take them out in the process.

ISO Hemlock

Our third and final favorite weapon for DMZ Season 4 is the ISO Hemlock. It’s become pretty common in DMZ, especially in Vondel. Plenty of enemy AI drop it when they’re eliminated and so it’s easy to get hold of and replenish your ammunition.

Despite nerfs to its range and recoil, it still performs exceptionally well at medium and longer ranges, easy to control and dealing good damage. The result is an AR that’s balanced and versatile, perfect to pick up from an enemy and use to take out their colleagues.

Best DMZ Sniper Rifle

This is still a tough one to answer, with every weapon in the class boasting strengths and weaknesses. Regardless, we’re sticking with Signal 50 as the best DMZ sniper right now.

It was by some margin the best sniper in Warzone 2 (back when it was called that and they couldn’t one-hit) but it’s been ousted from the top spot by more powerful bolt-actions like the MCPR-300 and FJX Imperium.

The semi-automatic nature of the weapon is crucial to make the most of. You can fire so much faster than with other snipers, meaning groups of bots can be dispatched rapidly.

It’s not as powerful as some others, but it’s still hefty enough to take down bots in one or two shots maximum. Use it sensibly though – it’s best to be used at range and from afar. This’ll let you take out AI without putting yourself in harm’s way.

Best DMZ Equipment

DMZ players take equipment into exclusion zones alongside their weapons, as is standard for Call of Duty. These are not subject to limits or timers, so make sure you choose these slots before every match. You can select a lethal projectile, a tactical projectile and a Field Upgrade.

Semtex

Firstly, we love a Semtex grenade in DMZ. They’re timed sticky-grenades, meaning they don’t ricochet and will stick to the surface they hit. It means you need to aim them exactly where you want them to explode.

This increased accuracy is why we love them: it’s easy to throw a Semtex into a group of unsuspecting AI and kill a few instantly. When you’re completing a Stronghold, there’s also no better way to quickly dispose of an annoying riot shielder than by sticking them with a Semtex and waiting for it to take them out.

Smoke Grenade

Our choice of tactical is a Smoke Grenade. Used by enemy AI with annoying frequency, there’s no better gear in DMZ to get you out of a tight spot and away from pursuing enemies. In a mode that’s all about looting and extracting, there’s no reason to dive into gunfights you don’t absolutely need to.

They’re very useful when trying to escape real-life enemies too. We’ve all been ambushed by an enemy squad while minding our own business and looking for items. There’s no better way to vanish that with a Smoke Grenade and a tactical retreat.

Portable Radar

Like the sniper rifle, choosing a Field Upgrade is a close run competition. There’s a strong shout for Dead Silence, a Portable Radar and even Battle Rage.

We’re opting for the Trophy System, though. In case you don’t know, these are deployable gadgets that destroy incoming projectiles. That means that grenades and tacticals thrown your way will be obliterated before they can detonate and cause you a world of trouble.

We especially love the Trophy System when you’ve got objectives that involve close-quarters action and plenty of enemies pushing a single location. For example, if you’re drilling into a safe for the high-tier loot inside, throwing a Trophy nearby is the perfect way to minimize enemy utility, forcing them to rely on weapons alone.

There are few things more annoying in DMZ than being weakened by bots and being finished off by a randomly slung Frag that bounces to your feet. The Trophy reduces the occurrence of events just like that.

Best DMZ Gear: Vests, Items, Gas Masks and Healing

This section will be shorter and less dense – mainly because there’s less scope to customize these aspects of your operator.

It goes without saying you want a three-plate armor vest. Failing that, try and find a two-plate or a special vest of some kind. The Stealth Vest has emerged as massively powerful in Season 4 thanks to its buff, but the Medic and Comms vests are still both very powerful. In short, anything above the default one-plate vest is welcome.

We’d also recommend tailoring these aspects to whatever mission it is you’re trying to do. If you’re running into a Stronghold then you’ll want more armor. If you’re heading into the Koschei Complex, take a Durable Gas Mask or find some Radiation Blockers.

It’s also worth always looting Bathroom Cabinets, First Aid Kits and Medical Bags. These often have low-tier healing items like Stims or Toothpaste, but regularly throw up Self Revive Kits and Revive Pistols. Both are incredibly valuable, essentially giving you a second chance if you’re taken out by bots.

Those are the best DMZ loadouts in Warzone Season 4, including the best weapons, equipment and gear. Be sure to check back as the meta changes, as well as perusing all the related content below for everything Warzone DMZ.
