Breaking down which ARs to pick and how to use them.

Warzone’s assault rifles remain the battle royale’s most popular form of weaponry thanks to their versatility and ease of use. We expect a number of changes to the class when Season 5 drops but, until then, these are the top five Warzone assault rifles in Season 4, ranked.

The Season 4 Reloaded update tweaked a lot of weapons and overhauled Warzone damage profiles. It means that players have to be more mindful of accuracy when playing, being rewarded for hitting their shots and punished for missing them. That’s translated to our list, which is all change ahead of Season 5’s August 2 release.

5) Lachmann 556

For a time the best AR in Warzone, the Lachmann 556 has fallen a fair bit across the latter part of Season 4. Players have realised that higher damage and faster-firing alternatives are more viable and its popularity has dropped as a result. It’s still a strong medium range performer, especially with the attachments listed here:

  • Muzzle: Harbinger D20
  • Barrel: 15.9″ Lachmann Rapp Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Phase-3 Grip
  • Optic: VLK 4.0 Optic
  • Magazine: 60 Round Mag

4) M4

The M4 is a classic of the CoD series and has been very popular in the rebooted MW series, especially in multiplayer where it’s an early unlock and all-round powerful AR. It’s not really done a lot in Warzone though – until Season 3 Reloaded and Season 4.

It flew up to second place in this list as players flocked to it. We’ve tempered its rating slightly, dropping it to fourth in favor of higher damage alternatives:

  • Underbarrel: Lockgrip Precision-40
  • Barrel: Hightower 20″ Barrel
  • Optic: Aim-OP V4
  • Stock: Tempus P80 Strike
  • Magazine: 60 Round Mag

3) Kastov 762

Once our favorite AR in all of Warzone, the Kastov 762 fell in viability and popularity as its recoil increased and its headshot damage decreased.

It returns in Season 4 thanks to its pure damage output. There’s still recoil to learn, so don’t expect to work wonders immediately after equipping it. Sticking with it is a route to being a nightmare for opponents though, with there being no AR more powerful in Warzone right now:

  • Muzzle: Eight-Point Flash Hider
  • Barrel: KAS-10 584mm Barrel
  • Optic: Aim OP-V4
  • Underbarrel: Lockgrip Precision-40
  • Mag: 40 Round Mag

2) Tempus Razorback

The Tempus Razorback AR has been on a gradual increase in Season 4, reaching second place as players learn to love its fast fire-rate, solid handling and decent range. It does bounce slightly more than some other weapons and, as a result, struggles to stay ultra viable at longer distances.

It also goes to explain why our chosen attachments make it a lot easier to use, ensuring you can hit your shots and drop enemies rapidly:

  • Magazine: 45 Round Mag
  • Optic: Aim OP-V4
  • Stock: TR Preamble
  • Underbarrel: Lockgrip Precision-40
  • Rear Grip: Casus X

1) M13B

The M13B has improved gradually since it was added back in Season One. It’s now probably the best assault rifle in the game thanks to buffed damage and range. These combine with an incredible fire-rate to make a seriously powerful gun, capable of outgunning any other weapon provided you can stay on target.

That’s why we’re aiming to improve its accuracy and range with our attachments. The extended mags stand out as a must have, as well as the Lockgrip underbarrel. It does impact ADS and sprint to fire speeds slightly, but it’s well worth taking the hits here for the boost it gives to your accuracy:

  • Optic: Aim OP-V4
  • Underbarrel: Lockgrip Precision-40
  • Rear Grip: D37 Grip
  • Magazine: 60 Round Mag
  • Stock: Bruen R90 Factory

There you have it! Those are our rankings of the top five assault rifles in Warzone Season 4 Reloaded. This list is sure to change when Season 5 drop, so check back soon for all the latest.
